REO MATSUMOTO (January 24, 1988 -) is the,Producer / HandPan Player / Beat Boxer /Percussionist

He started his career in 2005 as a Human Beat Boxer.

After winning the BeatBox Japan Champion, he moved his motivation of focus to the world after participated at World BeatBox ChampionshipIn 2012, he formed “Matsumoto Zoku,” a two-piece beat box, hand pan, and didgeridoo band.


Based in New York, Europe, and Australia, the Matsumoto Zoku has performed at many big festivals including OZORA Festival andRainbow Serpent, that one of the largest festivals in the world.


In 2014, Start HandPan / In 2019 became Yishama official HandPanPlayer.


In 2019, he will begin his full-fledged motivation as a producer andbeat maker.


His three hip-hop beat tapes, released on international labels, have received total streaming by over 1.1 million views in one year since their release.


Starting with the production and release of hip-hop beats from his own roots,.


 then, he began producing DanceMusic, a synthesis of the tribal culture and international music he encountered during his 10-year overseas tour, as well as the inspiration he gained from overseas festivals.


His live set, which combines deep tribal dance music with psychedelic essence,HandPan, Beat Boxes, and Percussion, will take core music lovers on a psychedelic floating experience.

 

REO MATSUMOTO(1988年1月24日 – ) は、メルボルンとウィーンを拠点とする横浜出身の日本人ミュージシャン、ヒューマンビートメーカー、ハンドパン奏者、ディジュリドゥー奏者、音楽プロデューサー、アーティスト。

 

2006年にヒューマンビートボックスに出会い、わずか二ヶ月でステージに立った以来4年間日本を中心にライヴを各年間150本以上出演、ワークショップなどを展開、バトルなどに積極的に参加し様々な功績を残す。2009年にはLondon BeatBox Convention、World BeatBox Championshipに出演。2010年には自身のビートボックスバンド’Humanism’で日本優勝を飾り2012年に再びWoeld BeatBox Championshipに出演する。

 

2010年、4年間で築いた日本でのキャリアを一旦捨て、路上から”世界へ無謀な挑戦をする”と掲げ、所持金3000円とマイク、スピーカーのみを持ちなんの宛ても無くメルボルンに渡豪。路上で稼いだ資金を元にインド、そしてNY、メルボルンと3年間路上演奏を中心に修行を積む。

 

2013年、メルボルンにて松本族、さらにはBREATH TRIOというバンドを組み、同年2枚のアルバムをリリースし、8000枚以上のアルバムを手売りのみで売り表現の場を路上からステージに戻す。

 

同年、ヨーロッパ最大サイケデリックフェスティバルの一つOZORA FESTIVALに出演、2015年まで3年間連続でOZORA FESTIVALに出演し、更には日本人初となるオープニングアクトをドラゴンネストステージで勤め、オフィシャルムービーに楽曲で参加した。

 

”ビートボックスを取り入れた世界において新しい音楽の形と生活に寄り添う音楽”を提唱し、2013年から今日に至るまでに計6枚のCDを発表、今日に至るまで計1万枚以上のCDを売り、ヨーロッパツアーを４回、ロシアツアーを3回、日本ツアーを4回、世界14カ国,41都市でゲスト出演やコンサートを行う。

 

人間の口から生まれるオーガニックなビートと、ハンドパンやディジュリドゥーなどを組み合わせ、ヒューマンビートボックスのみにとらわれない音楽スタイルを確率し、Chill Out、Ambient, PSY, Dance, Hiphop, Dn’Bなどボーダーレスな音楽を展開する。

 

自身のバンド、松本族ではオルタナティブオーガニックミュージックとして新たなジャンルを確率、ヨーロッパのパーティーピーポーを熱狂させる。
